Aco channel lining to assure containment

Eurotank Environmental has lined the aco drainage channels and sumps on a busy waste transfer site to assure containment in the event of a spill.

The customer had recently had 30 metres of drainage channels installed along with four sumps to contain any spilled chemical waste but they had noticed that the sumps were failing on some of the joints.

Greg Wyatt, Eurotank’s Group Technical Sales Manager, said: “This was a busy waste transfer site and our customer wanted to ensure the drainage channels and sumps would work properly when needed so they asked if we could line the sumps and channels in fiberglass.”

The team emptied and cleaned the channels and sumps before preparing their surfaces with shot blasting. The lining team then lined them with three layers of fiberglass using a chemical-proof resin. Finally, the sumps and drainage channels were hydro tested on completion to ensure they were sealed properly.

In addition, some sections of drainage channels were replaced for new by Eurotank Installations.
